Every school year brings a renewal of our learning community and we extend a warm welcome to our new faculty and staff. Click on each name to read about the newest members of the TASIS England family.
Administration
Melodi Jordan
Melodi Jordan joins TASIS as the Head of Lower School. Prior to moving to TASIS, Melodi spent 14 years in the UK working within the ACS International Schools group, most recently serving as Lower School Assistant Principal and Data Coordinator at ACS Egham.
With twenty years' experience as an international educator, she is delighted to join the TASIS community. Melodi earned her Master’s of Education from Framingham University and has also earned her International Certificate of School Leadership from The Principal’s Training Center.
Faculty
Louise James
Louise James joins TASIS England as Upper School Teacher of AP US History, US History, and Ancient and Medieval History. Prior to moving to TASIS, she spent five years teaching in the international sector in Mexico City, including the last three years at The American School Foundation working as an Upper School Humanities Teacher.
With seven years of experience as a teacher of humanities and history, working both in England and in the international sector, Louise is delighted to join the TASIS community. She earned her BSc (Hons) degree from Manchester Metropolitan University, her Masters degree from Cardiff University, and a PGCE teaching credential from the University of Sunderland. Outside of the classroom, Louise enjoys spending time with her family, cycling, and exploring new places.
Jamie McLean
Jamie McLean is excited to be joining TASIS England as Upper School Teacher of Mathematics. She has taught math and computer programming at international schools in Scotland, Oman, and England. Jamie earned a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Illinois, an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago, and a PGDE in Secondary Maths from the University of Aberdeen.
Jamie has over ten years' experience teaching high school and middle school math and enjoys seeing students excel at every level. She is an IB Examiner and enjoys helping students with math competitions. Prior to becoming a teacher, Jamie was a management consultant.
Jamie is married with three children and enjoys family time, cooking, kayaking, and amateur theatre – performing, directing, and being on the crew. She is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts USA.
Svetlana Skvortsova
Svetlana Skvortsova joins TASIS England's Upper School as a French and Theory of Knowledge teacher. Recently relocated to the UK with her family, her twin children will join the sixth grade. Svetlana's experience includes teaching the International Baccalaureate at the Chinese International School of Hong Kong for over 16 years.
Svetlana graduated first in her class from Tyumen State University, Russia. She continued her professional development attending courses in Asia as well as at the Harvard School of Education, USA. Passionate about languages, Svetlana switches between English, French, and Russian daily, while learning Mandarin. As a result of a student nomination, she was awarded the John Hopkins University prize for "Excellence in Teaching a Modern European Language."
An avid adventurer and traveller, Svetlana climbed Mount Kinabalu with her children and led school trips to Mongolia, Vietnam, New Zealand, China, and Eastern Europe. Her interests include investing, Irish dancing, reading, and baking macarons. Svetlana is excited to join the wonderful TASIS community as a parent and a teacher.
Jennifer Wilson
Jennifer Wilson joins TASIS England as an Upper School Math Teacher. Prior to moving to England, she spent three years in Mexico working as an IB Math Studies teacher while perfecting her Spanish. Once settled in England, Jenny volunteered to coach a middle school UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) math team for two years.
Jenny joined the Upper School mathematics department in January, teaching several days a week, and is now eagerly looking forward to working with TASIS students on a daily basis. Jenny earned her BS in Mathematics from the College of William and Mary and her MSMME from Montana State University. When not at school, she enjoys board games with her two teens, attending musicals and theater, and studying aromatherapy.
Staff
Richard Lamptey
Richard Lamptey joins TASIS England as Sports and Activities Assistant. Prior to moving to TASIS, Richard spent over fifteen years as a fitness professional/personal trainer, working in various fitness and health clubs with people of all ages and abilities. During this period, he gained experience and numerous skills, developing his abilities to help anyone who wishes to achieve their fitness goals and overall mental well-being. Richard's passion comes from knowing that he has helped to achieve his clients' main objective. Thus, his priority remains focused on the mission of what each person is trying to achieve as he assists by motivating them on their journey. Richard is delighted to join the TASIS community.
Richard's qualifications include Advanced Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer Level 3, GNVQ in advanced IT, LA spin, Boxercise registered instructor, and Powerplate Fundamentals Level 1. His interests include cooking, studying military planes, exploring new countries and cultures, and doing charity work in Ghana, West Africa.
Clare Struthers
Clare Struthers joins TASIS as Registrar and Assistant to the Academic Dean, Head of Upper School, and Director of College Counseling. Prior to moving to TASIS, she was part of the founding team at a new secondary school in Chertsey. Clare spent four years introducing and implementing their administrative function including Admissions, Attendance Reporting, and Human Resources, and latterly also served as Business Officer. She has held several voluntary positions in the area as well as being a Governor at a local primary school for three years.
After earning her BA (Hons) in Economic and Business Policy from the University of Portsmouth, Clare spent nine years working for Honda in their UK and European Headquarters, a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves cars and motorsport. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. Clare is delighted to be joining the TASIS community.
Kaveeta Sund
Kaveeta Sund joins the TASIS Health Center as a School Nurse. Kaveeta has been employed as a Paediatric Nurse in various hospitals and community settings. Her extensive experience includes working in children's wards and specialist areas such as Paediatric Accident and Emergency, Outpatients, and Assessment Units, in a private specialist boarding school for sensory-impaired children, and helping the NHS through the pandemic in Geriatric Medicine.
Kaveeta's professional background includes working with all age groups in various Health and Social Care sectors as part of the Young Apprenticeship program and while earning her National Diploma in Health and Social Care. After qualifying with a BSc (Hons) degree in Nursing (Child Specialist) from Buckinghamshire New University, she worked for an international healthcare company as a staff nurse on the Children's Ward at a BUPA private hospital in London. In addition, during two years with Worldwide Education, Kaveeta worked in private schools and nurseries as a Nursery Nurse and Teaching Assistant, providing one-to-one support for children with disabilities and Down's Syndrome.
With a passion for making a positive change to individuals' lives and inspiring confidence in others, Kaveeta is delighted to join the TASIS Community.
