TASIS The American School in England endeavors to open young people’s minds to the world through its innovative educational programs. Through the use of digital devices, students are empowered to explore a world of information, connectivity, communication, and limitless learning opportunities.

In addition, the School is committed to fostering the skills that will help students develop a passion for life-long learning, prepared not only for university but also for life in the modern world. To help achieve these goals:

Students in Early Years – Grade 4 will have access to individual Apple iPads.
Students in Grades 3 – 8 will be issued individual Chromebooks.
Students in Grades 9 – 12 will be expected to bring a laptop computer to class every day. We consider a “laptop computer” to be a wireless, Internet-capable, general-purpose computing device with a physical keyboard. Computers that use the Macintosh or Windows operating system are recommended but not required.

Technology is utilized in developmentally appropriate ways, emphasizing the creative multimedia capabilities of the iPad for younger children; the cloud-based, paperless educational potential of Chromebooks for adolescents; and the flexibility of laptops for older teenagers. TASIS England's curricular structure, learning culture, and Digital Citizenship program are guided by the standards developed by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).
