Break Information for the Boarding Community

Winter Break 2019-20 Arrangements

Departure from Campus

Boarders are permitted to leave campus on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 after school is dismissed at 11:35 a.m. and must have departed campus by Thursday, December 19 at 13:00 (1 p.m.) after which time School will be fully closed. Please check with your child for their individual End-of-Year Exam timetable but a general timetable will be posted as soon as it is available to assist you with planning.

We will be using our Boardingware leave application system to approve individual plans for your children over the Winter Break but please ensure you document flight details or plans to your child’s house parents as soon as you have confirmed arrangements. Please understand that we require timely and accurate information about your child(ren)’s travel in order to make the necessary arrangements. This information is essential for their safety and well-being.

Shuttle buses will run to London Heathrow after school finishes on Wednesday, December 18, and on the morning of Thursday, December 19, 2019. Students will be given the option of joining a school shuttle at stated times to London Heathrow Airport (we reserve the right to cancel a bus if uptake is not sufficient). Students requiring transportation at any other time will have to make their own arrangements.

The shuttle buses depart from TASIS to all London Heathrow terminals at the following times:

Thursday, December 19

Return Travel Arrangements

Boarders should return to TASIS on Monday, January 6, 2020 by 19:00 (7 p.m.) Please do not book flights that will have your son or daughter returning to School after this time.Please note that students are responsible for their own return to School at the end of their break. Taxi information may be found below. Classes resume on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.

Please note that students cannot return before Monday, January 6, 2020 as the School will not be staffed and there is no provision for meals, nurses, or other services.

Taxi Service Information

We recommend that students pre-book a taxi and co-ordinate with other students if possible to share the ride and cost. Please ensure that your child has money on hand to pay for their taxi ride. Fares start at £24 to Terminals 1, 2, 3 & 4, and £20 for Terminal 5 and conversely from the terminals to TASIS. However, the price increases for early-morning or late-night collections.
