Just before Thanksgiving break, TASIS Seniors from Humanities and AP Art History were whisked away to The National Gallery in Central London. Founded in 1824, The National Gallery is home to a stunning collection of over 2,300 paintings dating from the mid-13th century to 1900. Mr. Jepson, Dr. Pierce, Ms. Bird, Mr. Mezzo, Mr. Wainwright, and Ms. Jancosko accompanied students on this trip. The goal of the excursion was to bring knowledge of art and aesthetics to life. Students were tasked with answering age-old questions about the nature of beauty and art, and enjoyed wandering the halls of this historic museum.
You can see the pictures of this trip here. Thank you to Dr. Pierce for the photos.
