The Middle School Library underwent refurbishment over the summer, much to the delight of students and Librarian, Mrs. Harris.
As each week progresses, more and more students spend extra time reading, learning, and collaborating in the beautifully redesigned space. Much of the planning and design was due to Mrs. Harris and her desire to make the library an attractive, comfortable, and light area for students to both learn together and to sit, relax, and read independently.
The renovation features a separate and distinct instructional area, which is more spacious and supportive of the growing technological needs of the middle school population. In addition, there is a wonderfully light and airy seating area by the large new glass wall, where students can sit and read their favorite books, or do research for class work.
Mrs. Harris is very happy with the completed project, “The redesign has encouraged students to spend more free time here, reading by the window in the new comfortable chairs. Lessons are also easier to instruct with a much larger teaching space.”
