Making Tracks for a Good Cause

On the morning of Saturday, September 5th, two intrepid teams of TASIS faculty and staff set off on a charity walk to raise funds for Cancer Research UK (registered number 1089464) and Christopher’s Smile (registered charity number 1129906).

For a number of years, these charities have been the beneficiaries of money raised throughout the month of October during a series of ‘Pink Fridays’ raffles and events. Getting a head start this year, Mr Christiansen and Ms Weldin organized Saturday’s event, with team members choosing to walk either a Marathon (26.2miles) or a Half Marathon ‘Plus’ (15 miles).

The weather cooperated, staying dry and cool, and the TASIS spirit shone through as every walker managed to go the distance while enjoying the scenery of the Windsor Great Park – not to mention the ice cream treats from the village post office.

Mr. & Mrs. Christiansen and Ms. Jordy braved the marathon route, while Mr. & Mrs. Arcay, Ms. Covent, Ms. Gordon, Mr. Holdham, Ms. Mitchell, Mr. Sanford, Ms. Weldin, Mr. Wieland, and Ms. Yavuz Ulker completed the 15 miles.
