The annual Upper School Activities Fair, run by students, for students encourages leadership and participation.
Every school year, upper school students have the opportunity to join the clubs and after-school activities of their choice. Participation in these clubs encourages leadership and responsibility. In addition to team sports, Career Shadowing Program, student government, Model United Nations, Debate, and Yearbook, some of the clubs focus on learning and creating: the Environmental Club, TASIS Broadcasting, Filmmaking, and the International Club.
Student-led clubs are popular choices and many help to raise money for charities around the world. These include: Aiding India, Make a Wish, Fight Cancer Club, Romanian Children’s Relief, Hopes and Homes for Children, Miele, The Besom Project, The No Project, Thorpe Link (outreach to elders in the village), and the Global Issues Network. Activities Coordinator, Mrs. Reinikainen, helps to organize the fundraising activities and clubs, and inspires students to raise money for many important causes.
