Environmental Science teacher, Mr. Chong, along with a group of upper school students ensure the TASIS community recycle their waste paper, plastic and cups by providing recycling bins at many different stations around the school.
Mr. Chong is committed to encouraging the younger generations to care about the environment in which they live. He raises awareness through his teaching, by meeting bi-weekly with the students’ environmental club, and by using recycled items in scientific experiments. This week in class, students used recycled bottles to create an EcoColumn, which is designed to model an ecosystem on a small scale.
In the future, Mr. Chong hopes to involve even more students and teachers in the recycling program, “I hope that each year we can grow further enthusiasm for recycling on campus, and perhaps start to recycle a wide variety of items.”
