Lower & Middle School Intramural

Sports Programs

The Intramural program is organised and run through the TPA Sports Services Committee along with support from the TASIS Sports Department. The program is designed for students from the Lower and Middle Schools in grades Pre-K to 8, and takes place on Saturday mornings.  Participation is open to all students, girls and boys at all skill and ability levels. Teams are organized by grade level.

There are three seasons: soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, and soccer and tennis in the spring.  Part of each session will be devoted to skill acquisition.

Registration forms will be distributed prior to each session through e-mail and hard copy. These should be returned with the appropriate registration fee to the Registration Coordinator before the first session as noted on the form.  Please also indicate which volunteer area/s you can help with as the success and running of this program is totally dependent upon parent volunteers!

The first session of each program will be an organizational clinic to enable participants to be assessed and assigned to a team. The teams will have some drill work and then play matches on an intramural basis once a week. Please note the grade level divisions are subject to change, depending on the balance of participants after registration has been completed for each season. Competitions are low-key with no championships or league standings.

The soccer season commences with a coaches/players clinic on the Thorpe Place fields behind the Upper School Dining room. Sessions will take place on Saturday mornings from 10: a.m. – 12:00 noon.  Coaches from the Fulham Football Club will be hired to assist with the program. Grade level divisions will be determined based on registration.

Basketball sessions take place in the TASIS gymnasiums. Grade level divisions and times will be determined based on registration. Two Coaching Clinics run by the Guilford Heat, will be organised over this season.

Sessions take place every Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on the Thorpe Place fields and the tennis courts by the North parking Lot. Grade level divisions will be determined based on registration. Coaches will be hired to assist with tennis.
