The Parent’s Information and Resource Committee (PIRC), is a sub-committee of the TPA that works in close collaboration with the TASIS England Administration and offers settling-in seminars, topical information sessions, and coffees throughout the school year to help families as they make the transition to the UK and TASIS

Throughout the year, PIRC will host various opportunities to help your family transition to TASIS and to life in England, beginning with our Buddy Program. At the beginning of the school year, our aim is to help you make connections with other families, share our own experiences, and provide you with a warm welcome as you join our TASIS England community. Throughout the course of the year, PIRC hosts a wide range of events including: Transition and Adjustment seminar, travel chats, Driving in the UK, and more. PIRC also hosts coffees, weekly Virginia Water Lake walks, and various other social events during the year, all of which are wonderful opportunities to mix and mingle with other members of our community.

The TPA is involved throughout the year supporting the boarding students and their parents in various ways. We have a dedicated Boarding Parent Representative on the TPA Board to assist with communication between the boarding families, with both day families and the school.

Day student families are encouraged to invite boarding students to spend some time off campus, in their homes. This is especially encouraged over Thanksgiving weekend. Inviting a boarder over to your house is easy.

Evening visits can occur on a Friday or Saturday evening and day visits can be enjoyed on Sundays. Boarding students must return prior to curfew on Friday and Saturday evening (Grade 8/9 at 10 p.m., Grade 10 at 10:30 p.m., Grade 11 at 10:45 p.m., and Grade 12  at 11 p.m.) and by 6:45 p.m. on a Sunday in readiness for study hall. Overnight visits at weekends can range from 3:30 p.m. on a Friday to 6:45 p.m. on a Sunday, when the boarding student must be back on campus.

All new TASIS day families are assigned a "buddy family." Throughout the year, buddy families are available to help our new families adjust to living in the UK and to feel a part of the greater TASIS community. Typically, buddy families will have children of a similar age and gender as the new family.

A fun and vibrant group for all TASIS parents that organises a wide variety of tours and outings for all to enjoy. To connect with the group, look out for the QR code to join the WhatsApp group.

The Spiritwear store sells TASIS-branded items to promote school spirit amongst both students and families! These clothing items are not part of the school uniform but may be worn on “dress down” (no uniform) days called “Rags & Tags.” Purchases can be made online at https://www.tasisuniforms.co.uk/collections/tasis-spiritwear and also in person at various events. The TPA collects and sells clean, gently used uniforms that are donated by our parent community. Recycling at its best (and a money-saver too).

Every August, the Welcome Picnic allows new families to meet and socialize with other new and returning families. It provides a venue where new families can meet and learn more about the resources available in the TASIS community. Children can enjoy games and activities as well as tour the School and meet their fellow classmates. Volunteers are needed to coordinate, sign in attendees, and help to oversee various aspects of the event.

Trunk or Treat is the most popular community event for our younger students (and also for some of their parents!) Every October, the TPA provides some good ol' American Halloween fun, as students in both Lower School and Middle School dress up and go trick or treating from one decorated car to another in the TASIS parking lot. TASIS parents show their appreciation to TASIS teachers, staff, and administration by hosting a week-long celebration, the highlight of which is the annual TASIS Appreciation Luncheon. Teacher's classrooms and faculty lounges are decorated for the week and special snacks or treats are provided on different days of the week. Volunteers help decorate, deliver snacks and gifts, and provide the food for the TASIS Appreciation Luncheon.

Every December, the halls  of TASIS are decked with boughs of holly and other festive, seasonal decorations. Volunteers help put up and take down holiday decorations all around the campus.

The International Festival is an enormously popular event that celebrates the cultural diversity of the TASIS school community. Students, parents, faculty, and staff enjoy a fun-filled, family-friendly afternoon that features international cuisine, music and dancing, native costumes, and international crafts. Parents help to coordinate the event, represent their native or "adopted" countries, and prepare and share samples of delicious foods from around the world.
