Second grade teacher, Ms. Harris, challenged her class to discover more about important historical figures who have made a difference in the world. For this project, students were required to choose an inspiring person to research for six weeks, then to create a biography board and one page report to describe their accomplishments. On Tuesday, students dressed up as their chosen person and shared key facts and the biography boards with parents. From the boards and cards, parents could learn when the person was born, what they are famous for, and why the student felt inspired by them. Abraham Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt, Florence Nightingale, and George Washington were among the inspirational people chosen by the second graders. The ‘Living Museum’ was a great success!
