Roy Donelson, B.Eng., MBA
Managing Director, Defence, Raytheon UK
Roy has overall P&L responsibilities for the Raytheon UK Defence business with its annual turnover of circa £250m across multiple domestic and international business domains. He is also the director of Programme Delivery and Mission Assurance for Raytheon UK and its overseas subsidiaries.
Raytheon Company is a technology and innovation leader specializing in defence, homeland security, and other government markets throughout the world. Since joining Raytheon in 1999 as a systems engineer, Mr Donelson has been promoted to increasingly higher levels of responsibility in both engineering and program management. As well as his previous role as the director of Tomahawk Missile Programmes at Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS), he served in program or engineering leader roles for the Paveway™, STANDARD Missile, and MALD® programs.
Prior to working for Raytheon, Mr Donelson was a senior consultant at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, an international technology and management consulting firm. There his responsibilities included the system architecture of command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence systems. Before that, he served as a military intelligence officer in the United States Army for five years, attaining the rank of Captain.
Mr Donelson earned RMS Leadership Honors in 2014 as one of the top 20 leaders in RMS nominated by peers and employees for outstanding leadership. He also received the 2012 RMS Presidents’ Award Individual Award for Leadership and the Raytheon Programme Leadership Award.
He received a Raytheon Engineering Honors recognition in 2000 and 2005. His continuing professional development includes graduating from the company’s Engineering Leadership Development Programme in 2004, Systems Engineering Technical Development Programme in 2007, and Enterprise Talent Pool Programme in 2010.
Mr Donelson earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.
