Visiting Hours and Lunch
Visits are during students’ lunch. We are doing our best to group visits to create a mini-fair setting, so you will have a desk with a chair for students to speak with you. We are open to universities coming either on their own or in small groups. Each day, we can accommodate between 5 and 16 universities. If you are traveling as a larger group, please contact Alice Baker at abaker@tasisengland.org for alternative arrangements.
The days and times for visits with students are:
- Monday 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
- Wednesday 12:00 p.m. - 12:35 p.m.
- Thursday 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
- Friday 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
We ask that university representatives arrive about 10 minutes early to allow time to sign in with Security and share their photo identification. We have a very small waiting area (maximum of 5 people), so if your travel plans have you arriving earlier, then we suggest going to a cafe or restaurant close to your train station or walking to the Red Lion Pub in Thorpe (they are open from 11:00 a.m.). We will include suggested cafes close to local train stations within the Directions to TASIS England section below.
We extend an invitation for lunch in our dining hall directly after your visit. We will send details to request lunch once we confirm your visit.
Please review our school calendar to view school holidays.
The following days are when visits are possible, but there will be fewer students available during lunch:
- September 18, 2026: Optional prefect event that will detract some students from attending a visit
- November 11-14, 2026: Sports Tournament with several athletes off-campus
- March 10-12, 2027: Sports Tournament with several athletes off-campus
- March 15-27, 2027: Optional prefect event during lunch
- March 15-26, 2027: AP Mock Exams, schedule varies, but several students will be studying
- April 30, 2027: Optional prefect event that will detract some students from attending a visit
- April 30 - May 21, 2027: AP Exams, historically a lower turn-out as students are studying
- May 20-21, 2027: Sports Tournament with several athletes off-campus
If you would like to join our “University & College Parent Drop-In” by participating in a panel answering parents’ questions or sharing thoughts on a topic related to admissions, careers, testing, post-secondary options, etc., then please request a visit on that day. The organizer for the drop-in will contact universities visiting with further details. You can request a visit on one of these days and opt to not participate in the drop-in as well. The dates for these sessions are:
- Monday, November 16, 2026: University visit at 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m., Parent session at 1:15 - 2:15 p.m.

Directions to TASIS England
Arrival on campus:
- Please arrive at the TASIS Security Lodge on Ten Acre Lane, TW20 8SJ.
- Please arrive no more than 10 minutes early, as there is a very small waiting area. We have included suggestions for places to wait below.
By car
Here are the driving directions to reach TASIS England.
By train, from London:
Most of our visitors prefer to stay in London. From London, the easiest way to travel to TASIS England is by South Western Railway. There are three train stations in proximity to our campus:
- Virginia Water: The closest train station to our campus, only a 5-minute taxi from campus. Direct trains typically leave twice an hour and take 45-65 minutes from London Waterloo. There is no taxi stand at the station, so either use Uber or Bolt, or plan to book a taxi from the station. Atlas Cars is nearby.
- Egham: More trains go through Egham than Virginia Water, and it is about a 10-minute taxi from campus. Direct trains typically leave four times an hour from London Waterloo and are a 40-60 minute journey. There are sometimes taxis waiting, with the best option being Uber, Bolt or the taxi companies listed above.
- Staines: This station is about a 15-minute taxi ride from campus. Trains typically leave six times an hour from London Waterloo and are a 35-55 minute journey. There are typically taxis waiting at the station
Some universities have also found success using Uber, Bolt, or directly with taxi companies for transport from the Greater London area.
Helpful travel websites:
- www.nationalrail.co.uk for train schedules, fares, and to buy tickets in advance
- www.tfl.gov.uk for information on the London tube (metro) and real-time service updates.
We strongly encourage you to check the websites mentioned above closer to your visit to ensure there are no strikes or disruptions that could impact your journey.
Suggested Local Waiting Areas:
If you arrive more than 10 minutes early, then we have a small waiting area that can accommodate up to 5 people. If you are arriving by train, then we suggest one of these local cafes or restaurants:
- Egham Station: The high street is about a 5-minute walk from the station, with several cafes, including Liberto Lounge.
- Staines Station: The Elmsleigh Shopping Centre is a small shopping area with several cafes once you exit onto High Street. Alternatively, Coffee Genius is a 7-minute walk from the station.
- Thorpe: The Red Lion Pub is open from 11:00 a.m. and is a 5-minute walk from our Security Sign-In.
- Virginia Water Station: A Costa Coffee is directly across from the station.
