Upper School Ski Trip 2025 – A Success on the Slopes

Upper School Ski Trip 2025 – A Success on the Slopes

Over the week-long break in February, our Upper School students, along with faculty and staff chaperones, took their annual trip to ski in the Swiss Alps.

After a smooth flight to Geneva and a bus ride to the accommodation in Saas Grund, everyone was up bright and early for the first full day on the slopes in Saas-Fee. Whether beginners or experienced skiers and snowboarders, students had the opportunity to show their current skills and grow in confidence with the support of the Viamonde ski instructors.

Splitting into groups based on experience, the beginners hit a milestone moment, making it all the way to the top of the glacier to enjoy the breathtaking views and the sense of accomplishment that came with skiing at such a high altitude. The more experienced skiers pushed themselves with some off-piste skiing under the careful guidance of their instructors. The challenging terrain kept them on their toes, but they embraced the adventure.

Even through the busy days and hard work, the students worked together, making new skills, memories, and friends over much-awaited hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows. In the spirit of life-long friendships beginning at TASIS England, some even shared ideas for future business ventures.

Faculty chaperone and Upper School biology teacher Jillian Norrie remarked: “A huge congratulations to every student on their resilience, determination, and great attitude on our ski days. It can be hard mentally and physically to get out there and try new things. To see everyone come back smiling with stories of their achievements or funniest falls has made this ski week a wonderful experience for all."

The trip is organized on an all-inclusive basis, including transport, accommodation, and food plus tuition for skiing or snowboarding as well as evening activities.
