UK Education Guide Recognizes TASIS Student for Outstanding Service

We are delighted to announce that ninth grade student Tia recently received the Citizenship Award from the UK Education Guide.

Her selection was announced today in the organization's January Newsletter and she will also be featured on the UK Education Guide's Facebook and LinkedIn sites.

Tia's award included a £50 prize and she could choose to have this as a voucher or to donate the money to a charity of her choice. True to form, she chose the latter and nominated the Encephalitis Society to receive the donation.

As a Service Ambassador, Tia promotes and supports the Upper School community service program. Her efforts include helping to coordinate the Winter Clothing Drive for Bell's Farm Charity, as well as active involvement in the "Freecember" initiatives and the Upper School Club, Aiding Refugees in Europe.

When asked for her reaction to winning the Citizenship Award, Tia said, "Giving back to the community has always been something that I strive to do, and TASIS has given me so many opportunities to fulfill this. Starting my first year of Upper School, I knew that not only did I want to complete the required CSP hours, but that I also wanted to make a difference. Through all the projects I have done, I have learned to be a more passionate and committed member of the community."

"I am so grateful to Dr. Norris and Mr. Nixon for nominating me and giving me this amazing opportunity, and I am so happy to have been awarded the UK Education Guide's Citizenship Award this January. I’m happy to have been able to help those in need, and I hope to continue helping wherever I can!"

Congratulations, Tia, for this well-deserved recognition!
