Horse Riding at Berkshire Riding Centre

TASIS England students enjoyed their final horseriding lesson of term on Monday this week, at Berkshire Riding Centre.

We are delighted to be able to offer horse riding as part of our extracurricular activities at TASIS. Organized and accompanied by horse-loving and seasoned rider Miss Burns, our students have been riding at Berkshire Riding Centre (BRC) every Monday after school for the last nine weeks.

The riding center offers three all-weather schools, two outside and one inside, ensuring we are able to offer year-round riding, regardless of the British weather!

BRC has over 30 well-schooled horses and ponies, including several schoolmasters for more experienced riders, and the students have been carefully matched with their horses to ensure compatibility based on their height and experience.

As part of their equestrian experience, the students have been taught how to tack up their horses, and have learned how to lead a horse, walk, trot, canter, and jump.

During Monday’s last lesson, the more advanced students participated in jumping in the outdoor arena. To mark the end of this term’s horse riding lessons, Miss Burns presented every student with their own rosette. Miss Burns said, “I am delighted to be able to introduce the students to horse riding. It has been great to see them develop more confidence as the weeks have gone by. I look forward to continuing the program next term”.

Dates for the next riding sessions will be March 23 – April 18. Sign ups for the Spring term have now been completed but if you are interested in learning more about the TASIS horse-riding group, please contact Miss Burns at nburns@tasisengland.org.
