At the start of the school year, TASIS England launched the Middle School Language Ambassadors Program.
We are delighted that twenty multilingual students, ranging from fifth through eighth grade, volunteered to serve as ambassadors for their home language and culture.
Appropriately, their first big project coincided with the first day of TASIS England's International Week. The Language Ambassadors collaborated to organize a student-led assembly to kick off this week when we specifically recognize and celebrate the diversity with our school community.
As well as highlighting the advantages of multilingualism, the assembly included a video of students and teachers greeting us with "Good morning!" in their home language, an interesting language quiz, and a quick lesson in Japanese. Mrs. Rivers, our Middle School EAL Coordinator, shared their presentation with us, saying "I am so incredibly proud of what our students have achieved." You can see a few of their slides below.
