Celebrating Award-Winning Teamwork

Colleagues from across the School who played their part in our 2019 Summer School came together for a celebratory picture with Emma English, CEO of the British Educational Travel Association, organizers of the British Youth Travel Awards (BYTA) where TASIS England received the Gold Award as winners of the Best Educational Product category.

This award, presented to TASIS England in a special ceremony on November 21, was one of 14 categories showcasing the best provision in education, volunteering, marketing and social media, customer service, and a range of other areas.

The BYTA awards were initiated in 2007 by the British Educational Travel Association (BETA). This organization, established in 2003, now represents and co-ordinates the interests of over 120 of the best-known UK businesses in the youth, student, and educational travel industry. Overall the BYTAs attracted over 800 entries in a range of categories – more information on the awards may be found here.

Sia Georgaklis, Director of the TASIS England Summer Program, explained that “each year we listen to what our students and families are looking for in a summer school experience and we continuously enhance our course offerings and our summer program based on recommendations. It’s rewarding to see our work recognized!”

Head of School, Bryan Nixon, was honored by the recognition and said that the award is a testament to the community and the Mission of the School. “We are grateful to BYTA for recognizing our work with young people and the fantastic educational product that is the TASIS England Summer Program. I am also very grateful to the outstanding program team: administration, students, faculty, and staff – a true gold medal effort!”
